AES is a not for private profit Social Enterprise Partnership founded by former Education Welfare Officers; Pete Marley, and Jayne Bond. We have over 25 years experience of working with schools, children, young people and their families on matters relating to attendance. We have a sound knowledge of the statutory framework underpinning attendance and extensive experience of preparing and progressing cases through the legal process.
The Partnership was formed to meet the gap in services to Academies and Schools created as a result of local and national policy changes that have led to cuts in funding by Local Authorities. We will support academies and schools to develop and implement strategies to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence.
We will undertake casework for individual students who have unacceptable levels of unauthorised absence, working with families, schools and appropriate agencies to achieve successful outcomes. If intervention and support does not bring about a satisfactory resolution we will ensure that casefiles are properly prepared for presentation in court.
